Rare Vintage Art Deco Bisque Porcelain Nude Sculpture, by Raymond Granville Barger, Circa 1940s. A rare find, this sensuous biomorphic sculpture is gently rendered with delicate, feminine lines. The molded bisque porcelain form is abstracted with exaggerated, voluptuous features. Stamped in the mold “R Barger.”
Barger’s earlier works are less-documented, but known to center around the figurative while his later works tend to be more abstract. He is best known for large-scale public installations cast in bronze focused on equality and humanity.
Condition: Great vintage condition, some surface variation with light spotting commensurate with age and use (as pictured)
