Rare mid-century J.V. Orel "Dodo Bird" teak figurine from the "Zoo Line" collection, produced exclusively in Japan by Swank circa 1950s-1960s. The head articulates on a ball + socket with oversized eyes, + a lotted groove in beak intended to hold a small pair of scissors. Perfect for a branch or dried flower. Grooved slot in the back of body possibly intended for small clippers.

Stamped “Copyright JV Orel” on base with gold “Swank Exclusive Japan” sticker.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Light dings to the wood, wear + patina consistent with age and use.

Size Me Up: 6 1/4”H x 2 1/4”W x 4 1/8”L (back of head to tip of beak)
