Carl Auböck II was a Viennese artist and designer who's work was influenced by Bauhaus modernism. He was specifically known for his wide range of tabletop home goods and accessories, building upon the workshop, Werkstätte Carl Auböck, set up in 1906 by his father, Carl Auböck I. He was able to expand the workshop's offering to more than 500 new objects produced from 1946 to 1950. In 1954, Auböck was awarded four gold medals during the Milan Triennale for his range of stylized metalware.
CONDITION: Great vintage condition, with natural finish variation to the brass and leather components. Light losses to the leather towards the end of each handle commensurate with age and use (as pictured). The brass shows natural patination from time and use, with minimal surface denting or scratching.
