Antique Folk Art Tiered Spool Table with Scalloped Edge, Circa Late 19th Century
Antique Folk Art Tiered Spool Table with Scalloped Edge, Circa Late 19th Century. Wonderful folk iteration of a side table constructed with an interesting configuration of materials and techniques. The central structure and feet encompass repurposed large-scale spools with small square cut feet, slightly raising the legs to appear as if floating. The two square surfaces are fashioned from pine, lined in scalloped wood trim, vertically along the upper and horizontally on the lower level. The aged, dark-stained surface adds an extra layer of charm. Artist unknown.
Presented as part of our “Nameless Art + Design” Show collection, January 2025.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with minimal surface wear mainly concentrated to the top surface (as detailed in images). The top surface has areas of rubbing and finish loss.
