Antique Folk Art Adirondack Twig Stand, Circa 1930s
Antique Folk Art Adirondack Twig Stand, Circa 1930s. The hexagonal hourglass form employs densely stacked twigs interlaced and nailed together. The rustic, ribbed structure is accented with silver radiator paint, applied later in life. Hints of gold are revealed at the ends of some twigs indicating a previous layer of paint. The surface is inset with a well for holding a vase, planter or ashtray/catchall dish. Unsigned.
Condition: Great antique condition, overall naturally weathered surface patina, small losses to branches throughout (as pictured). Does not affect overall look or stability of the piece.
