Vintage Hand-Painted Trompe-l'oeil Drapery Screen / Room Divider, Circa 1980s. A 4-panel screen constructed from cut plywood with hand-painted surface applied decoupage. The face of the piece features painted “drapery” on each panel, in tones of chocolate, black and white, with touches of gold to mimic the metal hardware. This folk piece is unsigned, but seems to have been inspired by Piero Fornasetti. The reverse of the screen is solid black. Hinged along 3 seams, the screen is able to fold flat.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Some areas of scratching, abrasion and paint loss as detailed in photos.
Specs: 74” height, 18 7/8” width of each panel, 75 1/2” total width, 1/2” thickness of each panel.
