Vintage Blonde Bentwood Figural Valet Form, Circa 1970s
Vintage Blonde Bentwood Figural Valet Form, Circa 1970s. This rare sculptural valet stand is constructed from steam-bent laminated wood, designed to resemble a human silhouette. The form allows for hanging of a full outfit, with a catchall for accessories and jewelry on its lower shelf. The body of the form is supported by two sets of splayed legs. The design and construction is very reminiscent of bentwood pieces designed by Alvar Aalto. Retains a partial paper maker’s label on the underside of the head.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Light surface wear and finish variation commensurate with age and use. The form has a slight wobble (one leg is slightly higher from original production) that we have corrected with pads under the feet.
