Antique 5-Tier Folk Art Wood Spool Corner Shelf, Circa Early 20th Century
Antique 5-Tier Folk Art Wood Spool Corner Shelf, Circa Early 20th Century. Largely constructed from stacked thread spools, the legs of this folk art shelf are designed to resemble French bamboo. A scarce form to find at this height, each leg makes use of an interior metal rod to add structure to the piece. The triangular pine shelves and spools are stained and varnished to resemble cherrywood. Likely constructed at home from leftover materials. Unsigned.
Condition: Great antique condition considering age and use. Finish variation present on each shelf. A couple small losses to the edges of spools on the lower legs, and one top spool. The back and right legs are slightly angled. Does not affect the overall stability or strength.
Specs: 59 1/2” Height | 16 1/2” Width | 11 3/8” Depth | Approx. 10 3/4” Each Shelf Height
