Vintage Parquetry Wood Canisters, Circa 1940s-1960s
Large Conical Vintage Parquetry Wood Canister, Circa 1960s. Handmade box constructed with a two-tone radial wedge motif. Conical, pieced wooden body with a matching lid. Knob handle detail and alternating inset base. Original pencil markings from construction present at the base of the box. Signed on the underside of base and on the interior of the lid. “Made by Walter Kempi Newport N.H. 1962.”
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, shows signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Slight separation between two of the insets on the lid. Does not affect stability of the piece.

Small Octagonal Vintage Parquetry Wood Canister, Circa 1940s. Miniature storage box constructed from two-tone dark stained laminated wood and lighter sections in solid wood. Matching fitted lid with conical, beveled edge knob. Original pencil markings from construction present on the interior base. Joined with a wide octagonal base. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition, shows signs of wear commensurate with age and use (as pictured). Residual glue from original construction present on the interior.
