Vintage Folk Art Model American "Foursquare" Style Home, Circa 1940s
Vintage Folk Art Model American "Foursquare" Style Home, Circa 1940s. Constructed from plywood, pine, and fully hand-painted to highlight the woodwork, stone foundation and shingled roof. Each window retains original cut lace curtains affixed to the interior with remnants of cellophane that would have originally covered each window giving the appearance of glass. A true miniature house, we believe this was modeled after an actual four-square style home. Painted in shades of taupe, green, cream and slate grey. The artist chose to render all the important details down to a small painted “stained glass” window and brick chimney. Unsigned.
Presented as part of our “Nameless Art + Design” Show collection, January 2024.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Small losses to painted surface details as shown. Small remnants of original cellophane windows are intact, with all cut lace curtains remaining. One small wood section from the porch stairs is missing as photographed.
