Antique Regency-Era Inlaid Conch Shell Tea Caddy, Circa 19th Century. Gorgeous Georgian-era satinwood tea caddy. Designed with delicate inlaid detailing along the edges of the box with a stunning rendering of a conch shell on the face and top of the box. Interior of the caddy is lined in lead, quite common in it’s day. Not recommended for modern-day tea storage. Locking mechanism is encased in inlaid bone. Retains original key. In the style of cabinetmaker, George Hepplewhite. Unbranded.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, light loss to inlay along edges with surface wear/variation commensurate with age and use (as pictured)
