Antique "Wm. Cassidy Quality Signs" Smalt Sign Maker's Trade Sign, Circa 1880s. Double-sided hanging trade sign brilliantly advertising the shop owner’s (William Cassidy) expertise in crafting signage. Rectangular form, encased in a wood frame and reinforced with iron brackets for mounting. The smalt blue backdrop is offset with what was applied, channel lettering noting, “Wm. Cassidy Quality Signs” on both sides. Likely from a New York state shop.
Condition: Great antique condition, surface variation present throughout with wear to the wood frame and smalt backdrop. Original applied lettering is missing, leaving behind the stenciled outline (as pictured).
