Vintage Smoke Glass and Clear Textured Glass Pendant by Carl Fagerlund for Orrefors, Circa 1960s. Angular translucent smoke glass exterior shade, with molded textured clear crystal glass interior column shade. Includes original nickel cap. Exceptionally striking when lit, the glass shade layers truly come to life. Quite a rare piece of Mid Century lighting design.

From 1946 to 1980, Swedish glass and lighting designer Carl Fagerlund worked as a designer at the venerable Swedish glassworks Orrefors, renowned for its high-quality crystal and art glass.

Swedish glassworks Orrefors derives its name from the forested, Småland village where it was founded—a site of artisanal and industrial production since the 18th century. In the 20th century, the name Orrefors would go on to become synonymous with fine Swedish glass. The Orrefors glassworks facilities in Orrefors closed in 2013 but The Orrefors Museum is still running.

Condition: Great vintage condition. A couple tiny surface chips and edge scratches where metal cap meets grey glass shade (Not visible when mounted or lit). Two Tiny chips at lower edge interior of grey glass body (again barely visible). One surface blemish about 1/8” size from original production. See photos for detail.
