Vintage Folk Art Matchstick + Red Velvet Heart Lamps, Circa 1960s
Vintage Folk Art Matchstick + Red Velvet Heart Lamps, Circa 1960s. The maker cleverly repurposed everyday materials such as burnt matchsticks and scrap cardboard and transformed them into these striking forms. Each lamp is handmade with a central three-dimensional heart and faceted shade. Every panel is made of cardboard, faced with a vibrant red velvet and framed with matchsticks. The square plinth base of the lamp features two wood drawers faced in horizontal matches. Striking iterations of tramp art. Unsigned.
Each lamp sold separately. Both styles vary slightly in appearance due to their handmade nature. The available lamp has a very slight downward pitch to the shade. As pictured.
