Antique Forged Iron Dragon Boot Scraper, Circa Late 19th - Early 20th Century
Antique Forged Iron Dragon Boot Scraper, Circa Late 19th - Early 20th Century. An exceptional creation forged by hand with whimsy and flair. The artisan takes particular care in finessing the details, down to the slightest flick of the serpent’s tongue. The body undulates and coils throughout, terminating with a fantastic tapered forked tail. The scraper blade is integrated into the serpent’s body as a wing or fin. Though the work was created in sections, the maker was a true master in making it appear virtually seamless. This piece elevates the boot scraper to sculpture. In the style of works by Samuel Yellin. Unsigned.
