Antique Large Scale Brownfield + Son Transferware Bowl, Circa 1870s. Rare earthenware footed bowl glazed white with a deep green transferware scenic motif encircling the interior of the bowl, featuring architecture, wildlife and people against a botanical backdrop. Brownfield + Son was successful earthenware + china manufacturer in the 19th century. Made in Straffordshire, England. Maker’s mark is present on the underside of the bowl with the style “Mandarin” also noted.
Condition: Great antique condition, slight crazing in the glaze, wear commensurate with age and use. Minor hairline crack on rim which does not affect stability of the piece. Residual tape present around the base from prior application to protect the foot.
