Antique Commercial Greenhouse Photo of Man with Giant Dhalias, Circa Early 20th Century. The purpose of this photograph was most likely for promotional use. Present in the foreground is the proprietor dressed in a cable knit cardigan, white dress shirt, bow tie and bowler cap. Massive flowering dahlias encompass the interior of the greenhouse, propped up with special rigging from the rafters to maintain their stature. The moody silver tones of the print add depth to the beauty and scale of the flowers. Stamped “C. A. Owens Commercial Photographer Norwalk Conn.”

Condition: Photograph is in excellent condition, matting board shows slight signs of foxing, and wear to edges commensurate with age and use.
