Vintage Natural Brazilian Amethyst Dish, Circa 1960s

Vintage Natural Brazilian Amethyst Dish, Circa 1960s

$258.00

Vintage Natural Brazilian Amethyst Dish, Circa 1960s. Natural rock formation with variation in texture and color. This slice would have been part of a much larger geode form. The underside of the piece has an applied leather base that reads “Ametista Brasil Cortes” and retains an original retail sticker. Works well as a small dish, or candle holder.

The name Amethyst comes from the Greek “Amethystos” (“a” - “not” and “methysko” - “intoxicate”) - a reference to the belief that the stone helped to protect its owner from drunkenness.

For those who believe in the healing properties of crystals, the Amethyst is said to offer protection, humility, spiritual wisdom, and stress relief.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition, no flaws.

Specs: 4” Width, 3 3/4” Depth, 7/8” Height
