Vintage Large-Scale Hervé Van der Straeten Gilt Brass Branch / Leaf Pin, Circa 1980s-90s. Constructed from gilt brass, the delicate design of this branch form takes its inspiration from Art Deco and Art Nouveau influences. Hand-cut and hammered body with gilt surface and reverse pin. Made in France with original metal tag label on the reverse of the stem “VAN DER STRAETEN.”
Designer Hervé Van der Straeten was born in 1965 and studied at the Paris École des Beaux-Arts. His reputation began to grown in the mid-1980s with his creation of graphic, sculptural jewelry pieces. Well-known as an interior designer today, he has gained international recognition for his striking furniture, mirror and lighting designs.
Condition: Great vintage condition, surface patination and gilt finish variation present. One larger visible finish blemish on surface, as detailed in images.
