Antique Painted Tin Book Boxes, Circa Mid-Late 19th Century. Each of these book boxes incorporates pressed details to resemble the spine of a book and painted exterior surfaces (brick red and French blue and cream). The French blue box retains a partial paper rose decal, and the mini box retains portions of a pressed medallion “hex” design at the center. The interiors have been left unpainted. These trompe l'oeil pieces pair perfectly with antique books. Unsigned.
