The marble column was carved in three sections, with a minimal base, central shaft and capital with a flame motif. It’s possible this piece was designed for use in Masonic ceremonies or as a maquette for a large work of sculpture. Perfect for use as a standalone sculpture. Unsigned.
The wood column is constructed largely from walnut with a contrast orb capital and inlay detail along the base. This piece was designed for use in Masonic ceremonies with the base inlay referencing Masonic symbols. Perfect for use as a standalone sculpture. Unsigned.
Condition:
Marble - Great antique condition. Minimal surface wear with a couple small area of color variation. A few small losses to the tips of the flame detail at the top of the column (as photographed.)
Walnut - Great antique condition, minimal surface wear with a couple small areas of finish variation. Light areas of rubbing as detailed.
