Vintage Controlled Bubble Rondel Mirror, Attributed to Isabel Antonia Giampietro-Knoll, Circa 1960s. This exceptional piece of aqueous art glass is hand-blown into a rondel with a magnificent swirling controlled bubble motif. The backing is silvered to create a mirrored effect for the viewer. Fitted with a wire bracket for wall-mounting. Attributed to noted artist, Isabel Antonia Giampietro-Knoll. Unsigned.
In reference to Giampietro-Knoll’s work, the New York Times called it “as graceful as it is it is innovative.” Isabel’s pieces can be found in the permanent collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsoninan as well as the Corning Glass Museum, among others.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, small areas of loss to reverse mirrored surface (as pictured). Positioning of bracket was altered later in life.
