Rare Vintage Ebonised Wood and Steel Tabouret Stools Designed by French Designer Patrick Naggar, Circa 1986
Rare Vintage Ebonised Wood and Steel Tabouret Stools Designed by French Designer Patrick Naggar, Circa 1986. Designed for ARC international. Crafted of molded, ebonized wood and electric blue enameled steel legs with dramatic triple fin detail. In the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, “These stools are a strong example of Naggar’s design philosophy: the triangular seat is reminiscent of a saddle – associated with a traditional mode of transportation – but here it is made into a modern, static piece of furniture. The design of the stool also shows Naggar’s architectural approach to furniture design with the wide, thin back support and the narrow, tubular central front leg working together to provide balance and stability.” Signed on the underside of the seat “Patrick Naggar impressed and ARC insignia.”
(1) Stool Available, Sold Separately.
