Antique J + J Kohn Mundus Bentwood Chairs, Set of Four, Circa 1910s. Rare set of bentwood chairs, produced in Poland likely between 1914-1921. These antique chairs are designed with pressed wood seats in a radiant pattern.
Jacob + Josef Kohn were father and son furniture makers in Vienna, Austria. Part of the Viennese Secessionist movement, they were poised as one of Thonet’s largest competitors. The Kohn’s merged with Mundus in 1917 (forming Kohn-Mundus) before joining Thonet in 1924 to become the world’s largest furniture maker.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Overall surface wear commensurate with age and use. Partial original labels attached.
