Vintage Red Goose Shoes Promotional / Advertisement Mechanical Pencil, Circa 1940s. This large-scale advertising piece is made to resemble a mechanical pencil, complete with rubber eraser. Silver painted wood body, metal tip and “Red Goose Shoes” logo decal at the center of the piece.
The Red Goose Shoe Company of St. Louis, Missouri, originally Gieseke-D'Oench-Hayes, began selling shoes to pioneer families headed west in 1869. When the company became advertising conscious in the early 1900s, they changed the name to the Red Goose Show Company.
Condition: Great vintage condition, light paint crazing and wear to surface commensurate with age and use
