Vintage Vibrant Framed Scenic Mexican Popotillo Straw Art, A Pair, Circa 1970s
Vintage Vibrant Framed Scenic Mexican Popotillo Straw Art, A Pair, Circa 1970s. Detailed scenic mosaics rendered with popote straw dyed in vibrant hues of yellows, oranges, reds and greens. Hand-built configurations illustrating village scenes: one depicts traditionally-garbed pedestrians roadside against a Mayan Pyramid, the other shows them coming into a small village laden with adobe homes. Both pieces are created with an array of arid vegetation: agaves, saguaros and large trees against mountainous backdrops. An excellent set of Mexican folk art, unsigned.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, artwork is pristine with minimal wear to the frame
