Vintage "Cavalier Chevalier" Plate Signed Silkscreen by Marino Marini, Circa 1955

$598.00

Vintage "Cavalier Chevalier" Plate Signed Silkscreen by Marino Marini, 1955. Bright red ground with a horse and rider pictured. A double border in chocolate and black, this piece is signed in the plate “1955 MARINO”.

Marini was of Italy’s most celebrated sculptors of the 20th century who primarily produced figurative bronze sculptures, though his practice also included paintings, drawings and etchings. Marini drew on the tradition of Etruscan and northern European sculpture, reinterpreting classical themes such as the female nude, the portrait bust, and the equestrian figure, which he combined with aspects of modernism—in particular exaggerated and elongated forms.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Frame has a couple areas of light wear. Silkscreen is in perfect condition.

Size Me Up: 25 1/2” L, 30 1/2” H, 1 1/4” D
