Antique Hand-Colored Lorenzo Roccheggiani Etching, Circa 19th Century. Etching by Lorenzo Roccheggiani, an Italian draftsman and engraver active between 1804-1817. The work, Neoclassical in style, features a detailed monument accompanied by a tree with 5 hanging bronze lamps. The script below reads “1. Bizzarra Lucerna di Metallo, la quale si ammira nel Muse di Portici a Napoli. 2. Rarissimo monumento, che si ammira negli Orti Aldobrandini.” translating too : “1. Bizarre Metal Lucerne (Metal Oil Lamps), which can be admired in the Muse di Portici in Naples. 2. Extremely rare monument, which can be admired in the Aldobrandini Gardens. ". Framed in a gilt wood frame and salmon paper mat. This piece was likely hand-colored later in its life.
Condition: Great vintage condition. The engraving is in excellent condition. Frame shows signs of wear with losses as shown in photos.
